Viska Privacy Policy
The short version
Private and fading vents never leave your device. Vents you choose to share, and the comments and quick replies you write, go to the Viska server so other people can see them, and are deleted when they fade. There are no ads, no analytics, and no real names.
What stays on your device
Your private and fading vents, drafts, theme and region choice, the posts you hid, and the authors you blocked.
What goes to our server
A random ID created for your phone, and a secret key that proves it is you. We store only a scrambled version of the key. Vents you share, with the need you picked. Comments and quick replies you write. Reports you make. Decisions about your account, and any appeals. The counts behind your badges.
How long we keep it
Shared vents and comments are deleted within about an hour after they fade, which is 24 hours after sharing, or up to 48 if you extend one. If something is reported, a locked copy is kept while we review it: 30 days if we take no action, and about 6 months if we do, so you can appeal. Material reported to child-safety authorities is kept for one year, as US law requires. Records of decisions are kept as long as we need them to run Viska safely.
Who can see it
Other people see your shared vents and comments, never your ID. The Viska team sees reported content while reviewing it, and every time they look it is logged. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. We give it to law enforcement only when the law requires it, or when someone's life may be in danger.
Service providers
Viska runs on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver the app and protect it from abuse. Viska does not store your IP address.
What we do not collect
Your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, advertising ID, or device identifiers. Your region is a choice you make on the Help screen, not something we read from your phone.
Backups
Viska turns off Android cloud backup, so your vents are not copied to Google Drive.
Deleting your data
Use "Delete my account and data" under Mine, then Privacy and data. It removes your account and shared vents from our server, and everything on your phone. Age
Viska is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use it.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this policy and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
