Delete your Viska account
Delete it in the app
- Open Viska and go to the Mine tab.
- Tap Privacy and data.
- Tap Delete my account and data, then Delete everything.
This deletes your account from the Viska server straight away, and everything Viska stored on your phone.
If you no longer have the app
Viska never asks for your name, email, or phone number, so we cannot look up your account without its ID. Email contact@viskachat.app with the subject "Delete my Viska account" and include your account ID if you have it. It is in your data download, under "account". We delete the account within 30 days and reply to confirm.
Without the ID we cannot tell which account was yours. Anything you shared has already been deleted when it faded, and what remains is a random ID with no personal information attached.
Delete some of your data, and keep your account
- A vent you shared: tap Take it down now on it in the feed. It is deleted from the server straight away.
- Comments on your vent: tap Hide under any comment, or Turn comments off to hide them all.
- A quick reply you gave: tap it again to take it back.
- A private or fading vent: in Mine, tap Delete on it. These only ever live on your phone.
- A comment you wrote: it is deleted when the vent it is on fades, within 48 hours at most. To have it removed sooner, email contact@viskachat.app with the text of the comment.
Everything you share is deleted automatically when it fades: 24 hours after sharing, or up to 48 hours if you extend a vent.
What is deleted
- Your account and the key that signs you in.
- Vents, comments, and quick replies you shared that are still live.
- Your private vents, drafts, settings, and blocks, which only ever lived on your phone.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Locked copies of reported content, while a review or appeal is open: up to about 6 months.
- Records of moderation decisions about your account, kept as long as we need them to run Viska safely. They contain a random ID, not your name.
- Anything covered by a legal hold, or reported to child-safety authorities, for as long as the law requires: one year for reports to NCMEC.
